Med Room Updates

Yayyyy it's so great to be back in San Juan!

I have gone through the med room a few times in the last couple days and have a few requests to make for upcoming teams.   I will attempt to update this after the next group/groups arrive because I know they are bringing many supplies and this list could change pretty quickly.   Thanks again for all that you guys bring and contribute and do for the San Juan Clinic and barrio team clinics.  There are so many folks who get treatment because of you!

First- a list of things to NOT BRING....   :)
Please do not bring:

lancets
insulin syringes
bandaids
clean but not sterile OR drapes/gowns
OR masks
alcohol swabs
immodium
ASA
sutures (unless you know you will personally use them)
solarcaine
expired meds/antibiotics

We have recently found some information that discussed harmful side effects of some expired antibiotics and therefore have had to throw away a lot of them.

Stuff TO BRING:
adult and children's vitamins (always always always need them)
vaginal creams
anti-fungals specific to treat the head "hongos" or skin "hongos"
cipro
doxy
any antibiotics that you use frequently/prescribe frequently
RID (or other lice treatment- we just need a few more)
clean gloves AND sterile gloves
sterile gauze/towels/OR supplies
tylenol/ibuprofen (almost always since we use a lot of these in the barrios)
children's tylenol/ibuprofen (ditto)

Thank you so much for all your help!  Let me know if you have any questions...I will continue to attempt to update this list more regularly!
